Welcome to the gorgeous tees, fairways, and greens of Wedgefield Country Club – one of twelve members of the award-winning Waccamaw Golf Trail and a shining example of pristine low country golf. Known for its fantastic layout, stunning conditions, and unmistakable Carolina charm, Wedgefield Country Club offers up 18-holes of championship-caliber golf in an easily accessible public space.
Founded in 1972 and improving ever since, Wedgefield Country Club’s innovative layout is the brainchild of the renowned team of Porter Gibson and Bob Toski who took the incandescent work of Mother Nature and crafted it into something truly spectacular. Fully utilizing the surrounding live oaks, wetlands, and changes in elevation, the result of their genius is just over 7,000 yards of challenging play that will truly test your game in a variety of ways. Standing between you and a low score are 17 water hazards, 35 sand traps, and plenty of risk vs. reward opportunities that will call your course-management skills into question. Built along the winding banks of the Black River, the course twists, turns, rolls, and leans in different directions depending on where you land your ball – so think twice and pick your poison before each swing. You’ll be rewarded when you hit the greens as they roll smooth and true – allowing for even long putts to drop with reliability.
Rounding out your round is easy at Wedgefield Country Club when you take advantage of the many great amenities located right on-site. Warm up your swing with a trip to the newly renovated driving range and get the feel of your flat stick on the practice putting green. Shop at the fully stocked pro shop, and toast your scores at the Brick House Pub that awaits you at the 19th hole. Whatever you need to improve your play and day, you’ll find it at Wedgefield.
