Emerald Hills Golf Club
Enjoy a classic mid-Michigan round now under new ownership with today’s feature: $22 for 18 Holes with Cart at Emerald Hills Golf Club in Marshall near Battle Creek ($45 Value. Expires July 1, 2025!)
Marshall Michigan is a historic town, golf is a historic game – the two are a match made in heaven. And this happy marriage culminates in today’s feature course: Emerald Hills – an outstanding layout that is newly reopened and ready for play.
Formerly known as Alwyn Downs – named for the course’s founders Win and Albert Schuler (two Marshall institutions in their own right) – the course has been reopened as Emerald Hills with brand new owners and a brand new spirit of fun. With an expanded kitchen being constructed in the near future and all of the amenities you need on-site to enjoy a great round, Emerald Hills is the perfect place to kick off the 2024 golf season.
Historic, enjoyable, formidable – these are all words you could use to describe Emerald Hills’ enchanting course but its true beauty isn’t evident until you tee off on number 1. The Parkland-style layout takes full advantage of the mid-Michigan countryside with long hole layouts that navigate their way through mature trees and beautiful vistas. There’s no water in play here and bunkers are scarce, but you’ll need every shot working and a course management plan if you want to end your round with a score in double-digits. Pay special attention to the greens if it's you’re the first time – though they’re relatively small and unguarded by hazards, they’re undulated, smooth-rolling, and will be a challenge to your flat stick no matter how long or short your putt. You’ll need to putt well if you want to score well.
Since opening in 1933, the course at Emerald Hills has been delighting golfers from throughout Michigan. Now is your chance to experience what keeps people coming back for all of these years. Don’t wait and miss this feature – reserve your round right now.
