The Links at Cotton Valley
The Links at Cotton Valley is an exciting escape made even better by its convenient location just off Highway 64 and close by to Interstate 95. Home to visually appealing surroundings in the form of ancient oaks and long fairways, Cotton Valley is a course as stunning as it is demanding.
Constructed to capture the surrounding splendor of its natural terrain, this southern belle is more than just your average eighteen. Designed in 2000 by well-known course architect Tom Johnson, The Links at Cotton Valley features 6,773 yards of golf from the longest tees. Johnson's work at Cotton Valley took on some of his architectural signatures frequently witnessed in his overseas work. Slight elevations and wide-open fairways reminiscent of links-style courses play blend into natural foliage and mature tree lines more likely found in parkland designs of the Midwest.
This airy yet demanding design is capable of holding its own against skilled players, but leaves plenty of room for high handicappers with multiple tee locations. Though only moderately long, Cotton Valley features tough Bermuda grass and broad swaths of sandy bunkers, as well as water hazards that figure into 15 of 18 holes. In the end, it all boils down to a course/slope rating of 71.0/135, giving this par-72 plenty of bite.
If you’re game isn’t quite on par, don’t worry one bit. The Links at Cotton Valley features a driving range, including a chipping/putting green with practice bunker, and the on-site pro shop has you covered from clubs to equipment to apparel. With daily discounts and a delightful staff, you’re sure to find just what you’re looking for.
So come enjoy a round at one of the area’s most accessibly and aspiring courses at The Links at Cotton Valley as you’re sure to be pleasantly surprised.
