North Shore Golf Club
Situated along the picturesque shores of Lake Michigan's Green Bay, North Shore Golf Club in Menominee, Michigan, invites golfers to experience its challenging 18-hole course. Established in 1926 and located just seven miles north of downtown Menominee on MI-35, this club combines natural beauty with the intricacies of a well-designed golf course.
The course presents a tale of two halves: the front nine offers a slightly more open landscape, inviting players to test their mettle against the elements, while the back nine weaves through dense woodland, demanding precision and strategic thinking with its narrow approaches and small greens. Golfers face a variety of challenges including numerous doglegs, water hazards, and sand bunkers that guard many greens and fairways. The constant winds off Lake Michigan add an extra layer of complexity, ensuring no two rounds are ever quite the same.
With spectacular views of Green Bay accompanying you throughout the round, the course offers a serene escape from development, allowing the natural surroundings to shine. The course features bentgrass fairways and greens, three sets of tees catering to all skill levels, with the longest tees stretching to 6,440 yards and a course rating of 70.4/119. The original nine holes, designed by Alex Jolley, and the subsequent additions and renovations by Gil Miller, have culminated in a parkland layout that is both a test and a pleasure to play.
North Shore Golf Club is not just a golf course; it's an homage to the beauty of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and the sport of golf itself, inviting players to not only challenge their game but to also soak in the tranquil beauty of its setting.
