Pohlcat, located just a few short miles from Soaring Eagle Casino, is a par-72 championship course designed by PGA Touring Pro and native Michigander, Dan Pohl. The course plays 6,954 yards with a rating of 73.3 and a slope of 133 from the Championship tees. Pohlcat has three additional sets of tees for golfers to choose from, and the yardages range from 6,258 yards on the middle tees to 5,140 yards from the front tees. The landscape of the course is impressive: The majestic Chippewa River cuts in and out of holes that are framed by waving long grasses and tall trees. Named one of "America’s Twelve Best New Golf Courses" in 1992 by Golf Digest, Pohlcat offers golfers a great mix of golf holes that are certain to pose a challenge, yet still be enjoyable to players of all skill levels — even if only for the beautiful surroundings.
Before you head out on the course make sure to warm up your game at Pohlcat's first-class practice facility, which features a natural-grass driving range with 5 target greens. The short game practice area is well-equipped with two large putting greens, a pitching/chipping area and even a practice bunker. In the 22,000 square-foot log clubhouse, you will find a full-service Pro Shop stocked with all the top names at competitive prices.
