Dunmaglas Golf Club
Let's all head up north for the weekend to a course tucked away in the scenic woods of Northern Michigan. Enjoy what Golf Digest ranked as one of the "Best 50 Upscale Courses in the United States" with today’s feature: $35 for 18 holes with a cart and a bucket of balls at Dunmaglas Golf Club in Charlevoix ($95 Value).
Dunmaglas Golf Club opened in 1992 to enthusiastic reviews on account of the property's beautifully landscaped design as conjured up by Larry Mancour and Dean Refram. Numerous golfers made their way to the course to test their skills only to find that the mountainous landscape dwarved their capabilities; however, the course's natural beauty overwhelmed them and made for a great day of golf, regardless of how the scorecard read.
In 1995, Mike Pung purchased the course and started a new chapter in Dunmaglas history. He refined the course by removing numerous trees, filling in bunkers, and constructing additional tee boxes to make the course even more enjoyable for the average golfer. The course has been maintained in its current immaculate condition ever since, and will treat guests to breathtaking views of Lake Michigan. The course spans over 800 acres of trees, meadowlands, valleys and hills that will make you believe you're playing in otherwise untouched wilderness. Playing 6,897 yards from the tips with a course/slope rating of 73.4/137, the additional tee boxes give all types of golfers an opportunity to choose their challenge for the day. All this means that the course at Dunmaglas Golf Club provides a pure and unspoiled golf experience that you just can’t find anywhere else. The location and phenomenal mountainous landscape create a diverse, serene atmosphere that will not be forgotten.
Before your round, enjoy your warmup routine with the included bucket of range balls at Dunmaglas Golf Club's practice facility. In addition to the grass driving range, you'll find a large practice green and short game area that features a practice bunker for any last minute adjustments. Best of all, you can head back to the clubhouse after your round, where you'll be enjoying a cold beverage and sandwich while tallying up the scores.
