Brae Burn Golf Club
So you think you're a long hitter? If so, we've got the challenge for you. Experience one of the longest holes you'll ever play — excluding those par-6's in Thailand — with today’s feature: $15 for 18 holes with a cart and bucket of range balls at Brae Burn Golf Club in Plymouth ($45 Value. Expires April 30, 2011.)
Designed by English golf course architect Wilfred Ewart "Wilfie" Reid in 1923, Brae Burn Golf Club is a par-70 18-holer that stretches as long as 6,482 yards from the back tees and whose holes have names. More specifically, this course has holes with names like "The Monster," and it would very much like to introduce itself to you.
The Monster is a 666-yard double dog-legging par-5, an evil hole that more than deserves its name. Local legend maintains that there's no way to get home in two but if you think you have what it takes, here's your chance to give it a go. Afterward, ice your back and make sure you keep that bucket-on-a-stick handy, because The Monster has friends. Luckily, there are some much friendlier holes on the course and you will find plenty of opportunities to score.
These fairways are tree lined and you'll find an ample amount of elevated tees and greens. Water comes into play on a majority of the holes but never with much ferocity, and you will find most holes quite manageable. Like any other monster-slayer, be sure to head to the practice range to prepare for your round's duel, using the included bucket of balls to practice smiting the enemy.
Eventually you'll wander into The Tavern, the perfect place to end your round at Brae Burn Golf Club. Unwind with your favorite beverage or cocktail from the fully stocked bar while you relax in the natural surroundings. The Tavern is open daily and offers weekly specials. Brae Burn Golf Club's sole mission is to provide you and all their guests with a quality experience with exceptional service and a comfortable atmosphere.
