Possibly best known through its Patriot Golf Day fundraiser, which is supported by thousands of golf facilities across the country on Labor Day weekend, the Folds of Honor Foundation has raised over $8,000,000 through the great "game of golf" to provide post-secondary educational scholarships for the families of military men and women who have been killed, or disabled while serving our great nation.
The Folds of Honor Foundation was founded in 2006 by Major Dan Rooney, a PGA Golf Professional, and Golf Course owner. An F-16 Pilot in the Air National Guard, Major Rooney has served three combat tours in Iraq. After returning from his second tour, Major Rooney witnessed a profound situation that drove him to create the Folds of Honor Foundation. You can learn the complete story at FoldsOfHonor.org.
