Wekiva Golf Club
Sometimes the most frustrating thing about golf in Central Florida is deciding which course to show up at next. No worries, friends, for today’s feature will leave you with no question as to where you and the irons are headed next: $13 for 18 Holes with Cart at Wekiva Golf Club in Longwood ($30 Value. Includes Tax. Expires September 30, 2011.)
Wekiva Golf Club opened in 1972 and has since grown into one of the most established courses in Central Florida. The fabulous reputation and immense popularity of this course is due to many factors, including a thoughtful course design, solid course conditions and great course location within a popular residential community.
The course at Wekiva Golf Club is an 18-hole, 6,850-yard par-72 beauty that features magnificent oaks and mature pines and palms as well as rolling fairways, gentle mounding and more than 80 strategically placed bunkers, described by course officials as highlighting both the fairways and undulating greens.
Wekiva Golf Club is well aware of the good thing they have created and describes the course as being "crafted out of a wooded setting." Its clever design resulted in no parallel fairways and large stands of trees between holes. Bending doglegs feature prominently and "all holes are very well bunkered with water coming into play" on three of them.
To ensure your day on the course won’t be ruined with grumbling stomachs, the on-site restaurant The Eagles Nest at Wekiva serves up breakfast and lunch daily, with a wide array of delicious offerings sure to please any palette.
Wekiva Golf Club is a semi-private club and welcomes outside play, operating with a "Member For A Day" philosophy to make everyone feel at home, so please, enjoy your stay at Wekiva!
