Maplecrest Golf Club
Tucked away in the rolling hills of Ohio lies one of the state's premier 18-hole public golf courses, and the subject of today's feature: $20 for 18 Holes with Cart and Range Balls at Maplecrest Golf Club in Kent near Cleveland ($47 Value. Expires December 7, 2011.)
Located in the riverside town of Kent, Maplecrest Golf Club is a steal for Northwestern Ohio GroupGolfers. Though certainly a mature course — it has been enjoyed by generations, since 1928 — Maplecrest Golf Club has the type of classic design that endures without becoming boring or stale.
Throughout the years, the course has remained driven to stay a top-of-the-line establishment with various improvements and renovations and now boasts itself as one of the highest-rated public courses in Ohio.
At 6,321 yards from the farthest tee and 5,285 yards from the shortest with a rating of 69.2/111, Maplecrest has proven itself to be a great course for both beginners and professionals looking for a classic layout and relaxed play. The par-71 layout is well-maintained and excellent for walking and riding alike.
The greens are cut from lush, perfect-for-putting bent grass and in most cases protected with unforgiving bunker complexes. A little fast and somewhat sloped, you'll be glad to reach them after Maplecrest's challenging par-3's.
The wide, straight, tree-lined fairways make up part of the scenic landscape of Maplecrest. Exprect water hazards to add a twist to your play in spite of their beauty, as does Maplecrest's unique flora — the plants, shrubs, flowers and tree that you see on the course are born and nurtured in the club's on-site greenhouse!
