The Country Club at Lake City
We may have spoiled Orlando a little bit last week so we’re headed north to Lake City for today’s GroupGolfer feature: $22 for 18 Holes with Cart and a Large Bucket of Range Balls at The Country Club at Lake City in Lake City (Up to $56 Value. Good Any Day, Any Time before January 31, 2012.)
Known to have some of the best-kept greens in Northern Florida, The Southern Oaks course at The Country Club at Lake City draws golfers from all directions for a fairly demanding 18-hole round. That is a pretty tough feat when surrounded by great courses all over the Golf Mecca that is Florida.
Don’t bother looking for a course that pays more attention to detail than The Club when it comes to overall course maintenance. Check out the blog completely dedicated to course upkeep with Superintendant Doyle Worthington, Jr. at the official website to see all of the upgrades the course has to offer throughout the year.
The Southern Oaks course is a par-72 with four sets of tees to choose from, this course is appropriate for golfers of all skill levels to show off their talents. Southern Oaks offers 6,784 yards from the back tees, featuring a course and slope rating of 73.4 and 135, respectively.
Designer Willard Byrd developed these 18 holes with more than a local links-style course in mind. Southern Oaks has been host to the 1990 and 1991 Hogan Tour, the 1996 PGA Tour School, the 2000 and 2003 American Senior Golf Association Tournament and the 2003, 2004 and 2005 Women’s Senior Golf Tour Qualifying Tournament.
In addition to obsessively well-kept greens and fairways, The Country Club at Lake City is covered in beautiful Florida vegetation and mature trees from beginning to end. The experience you’ll have during a round at today’s GroupGolfer featured course is well-worth the quick drive off the beaten path.
