Mohican Hills Golf Club
Come out and play a true "diamond in the rough" with today’s feature: $19 for 18 Holes with Cart and a Fountain Soda at Mohican Hills Golf Club in Jeromesville near Canton ($45 Value. Expires May 15, 2012.)
Plotted along the rolling hills of Ashland County and carved out of the Ohio countryside you’ll find the 18-hole "Mohican Hills" course at the Mohican Hills Golf Club. This Golf Digest 4-star course came to life in 1972 as a Jack Kidwell / Mike Hurdzan design — and now both are renowned Columbus-based course architects. Originally a nine-hole design, the back nine opened up in the spring of 1976. It wont take long for you to recognize that this layout lives up to its creators’ reputations, having been known for creating player-friendly courses that are dynamic yet not too complex.
The course at Mohican Hills Golf Club is a par-72 layout, measuring up to 6,622 yards from the tips with a course/slope rating of 71/124. Mohican Hills features four different tee locations on each hole, which will appeal to golfers of all skill sets from the scratch golfer to the casual "duffer."
The front nine boasts large and undulating greens, which are known for their fast and challenging play. Just because the greens are large, don’t underestimate the importance of placing your approach shot to make these green less difficult. The back nine features smaller greens, which will test your accuracy even more, so make sure your ball-striking is up to snuff before hitting the links.
Before your round, be sure to dust off those clubs at the putting and chipping greens and full-service driving range. While you’re improving your game, swing into the pro shop and improve what’s in your bag with all the big names in golf that you demand and deserve. Lastly, be sure to pop into the clubhouse for some grub and a cold beverage while you tally up the day's scores and talk about the shots that were and could have been.
So come out to Mohican Hills Golf Club and enjoy a round at one of Ohio’s best-kept secrets.
