Designed by golf course architect Charles Verbeke in 1988, Michigan Meadows Golf Course has been providing a splendid collaboration of oak-lined fairways dotted with numerous ponds and demanding bunkers. Best known for its Michigan Mitten green on No. 16, this nostalgic layout's fun atmosphere and challenging twists offer plenty of smiles swing after swing. Playing 5,923 yards with a slope rating of 71.1/131, Michigan Meadows promises tricky pin placements and "hazard"-ous fairways that make great shots that much more rewarding.
In the middle of Chesterfield Township, Salt River Golf Course runs along, over and around the Salt River for which it is named. Known for its numerous dog-leg holes and strategically placed bunkers, Salt River is set up most rewardingly for the accurate, trusty swing. Built in 1970, this 6,107-yard course has a little length from the tips and sets up a fair, honest round for players of all skill levels. The open layout of Salt River is forgiving of the occasional hook or slice, as it’s still possible to make these greens in regulation after a missed fairway. But beware, as these greens are tightly tucked behind bunkers and in between trees.
The winding fairways, wooded paths and creekside greens of Michigan Meadows Golf Course and Salt River Golf Course offer up two unique selections, so come enjoy these fantastic courses, as they are certain to cover your every expectation.
