Showcasing all the beauty of the region, Oyster Creek Golf Club is a gem in the crown of Gulf Coast Florida golf. Losing yourself in the lush landscaping is easy to do, and wildlife is abundant, especially considering the large amount of water features found naturally on the course at Oyster Creek Golf Club. Overall, the picturesque atmosphere is sure to capture your attention — though you'll want to keep your focus on this challenging course as best you can.
Oyster Creek Golf Club is an 18-hole executive-style course. Designed by Ted McAnlis, this par-60 course opened in 1993. From the longest tees, the course measures 3,976 yards. While the course rating is only 59.3/100, Oyster Creek should not be underestimated.
Looking down the narrow fairways, any golfer can recognize what challenges lay ahead. Cinching the belt on the already-thin fairways even tighter, the plentiful water features make this course very tricky. Aim your shots well or you’ll be with the storks and cranes looking for your ball.
"Thoroughly challenging" is the name of the game at Oyster Creek Golf Club — even No. 1 tests your counting skills after you putt out. While the green lays only 150 yards away, the fairway there is extremely narrow, and if you're not careful, the marshy gully will swallow up your ball.
Nos. 8 and 9 make for a great back-to-back combination: The tees on No. 8 are on one side of a lake, and the green lays on the other. And the 400-yard par-4 No. 9 is home to a hidden pond and bunker that protect the green.
When playing a round at Oyster Creek Golf Club, please remember: You're golfing, not frolicking at the beach, so resist your instincts to head for the water and sand, and keep your eyes on the green!
