While beautiful scenery is one thing, a great course, like Indian Ridge Golf Club, needs more than that. Designer Brian Huntley plays on the terrain of the area and enhances it with a superbly designed course. Make sure you bring all your clubs, as you'll surely need more than your driver and wedge. Strategy, precision and shot choice can make this course your best friend or worst enemy. Even with the wide-open fairways, Indian Ridge is no walk in the park, particularly when it comes to the 58 bunkers that protect the greens throughout.

The best of Indian Ridge comes out in holes like No. 7, which doglegs over water. Sticking to the middle of the fairway will result in a slightly tricky approach, or you can gamble with the long shot off the tees from the get-go.

This Southwest Ohio course plays 18 holes with a par of 72. From the black tees the course measures just over 7,000 yards, with a course rating of 73.8 and a slope rating of 132. Also, Indian Ridge offers three other sets of tees to choose from, and the course plays down to 5,063 yards from the front. The course is designed not to be difficult, but rather to be all about strategy, making it an ideal course for players of all skill levels.

Lastly, stop into the new clubhouse to check out the updated surroundings, including the new bar and grill, "Tavern on the Ridge." Perfect for the post-round combination of food and drink, you'll find no better place to count up the day's strokes.
