Barry Clayton began his career at The Westin Mission Hills Resort back in 1996, when he took on the challenge of coordinating all Golf Digest Schools, Troon Golf Getaways and Westin Golf Academy Schools, as well as private hourly lessons. Voted "Desert Chapter PGA Teacher Of The Year" for three years by his peers, Barry has earned himself the utter knowledge and skill set to be a true leader in his industry.
Known to have worked alongside some of the world's leading instructors, he's taken with him the understanding of the sport to truly simplify your swing. By making understandable adjustments to thousands of individual lessons, he's prided himself on helping each golfer comprehend what it is to have a truly logical swing.
After leading his college team to the California State Championship in 2004, David Curtis stepped up his devotion to the sport on a professional level. Perfecting his understanding of the sport with years and years of junior golf programs and schools at The Westin Mission Hills Resort, he gained the industry knowledge needed to create personal and informative individual lessons.
Taking with him the knowledge instilled by some of today's top-tier professionals, David has perfected his own swing as well as countless others in return. Teaching more classes than any other instructor on staff, his work ethic serves as an inspiration to and model for every student he coaches.
After the insightful morning on the range, make sure to test out that new swing on the par-72 Gary Player course Stretching to a lengthy 7,062 yards with a slightly unforgiving course/slope rating of 73.4/131. This challenging set of fairways and greens will be exactly the real-world practice you need. Reminiscent of a links-style design, the Gary Player course gives golfers the ability to run a ball onto the greens with a flatter approach and more wide open angles.
So whether you've spent years perfecting your so-so shots, or you're just beginning to understand this worthwhile sport, it's time to take control of the game you enjoy so much with professional instructors Barry Clayton and David Curtis.
