Palmetto-Pine Country Club
Most avid golfers have some knowledge of names of some of the greats when it comes to course architects. One name that carries quite a bit of significance is Arthur Hills, and he just so happens to be the mastermind behind the design of today’s feature: $24 for 18 Holes with Cart, Range Balls and a Draft Beer or Fountain Drink at Palmetto-Pine Country Club in Cape Coral near Fort Myers ($63 Value. Includes Tax. Expires December 31, 2012.)
Arthur Hill's designs are found spread across the country, from California to Michigan to Wisconsin, and many more states dating back to the 1970s. This semi-private 18-hole layout was carved from Lee County’s undulating pine-covered landscape back in 1969. In 2004, Palmetto-Pine Country Club's tees and fairways were completely refurbished, replaced with new tiff-eagle greens that are a dream to play on. If you haven’t tried them out, you’re missing out!
Palmetto-Pine has five different tee locations on each of its 18 holes, spanning over 6,700 yards from the tips with a course/slope rating of 73/127. Given the championship-caliber play, the course has hosted numerous tournaments and has only gotten better with age, exactly as you'd expect from a public course that retains its country-club atmosphere.
Swing into the pro shop where you’ll find John Chambers, head professional, and his staff offering you a wide variety of all things golf. While you’re in the mood for game improvement, utilize those range balls, as well as Palmetto-Pines short game practice area that features a putting green, chipping area, and a practice bunker to boot.
Don’t pass this opportunity to play a great Arthur Hills design nestled in Lee County’s lush landscape, just 15 minutes from North Fort Myers!
