Designed by Arnold Palmer himself, Mill Cove Golf Course originally opened in 1990, and, satisfied with his work, The King left Jacksonville. To this day, Mill Cove stands as the only Arnold Palmer Signature Design course in the city, so it has come to carry quite the reputation in the area.
Having undergone a bit of reconditioning throughout the past couple years, tremendous improvements have been seen along Mill Cove's 18-hole, 6,671-yard championship layout. The fairways are more shapely and the course now sports some of the finest green complexes in the greater Jacksonville area.
Old hemlocks stand like guardians among the numerous wetlands that dot the landscape. While serving as a magnificent aesthetic, the wetlands can be just as nerve-wracking as they are beautiful. While Arnold Palmer Signature courses are known for their difficulty, Mill Cove has an unparalleled balance. It is uniquely challenging yet playable by all, with a course/slope rating of 71.7/129.
Aside from a wonderful mix of golf holes, Mill Cove Golf Course also offers additional amenities to ensure a more enjoyable experience. The lighted driving range presents the perfect opportunity for golfers to fine-tune a rusty swing or simply just to enjoy cracking out a bucket of balls after a round, just like Hogan said. Private golf lessons are also available to help players get past a new plateau. And after all is said and done on the course and on the range, relax at Mill Cove's clubhouse restaurant, equipped with a well-stocked bar to help toast to your success — or to nurse your wounds.
