Alaqua Country Club
Reconnect with nature, while golfing, with today’s feature: $25 for 18 Holes with Cart at Alaqua Country Club in Longwood near Orlando ($75 Value. Includes Tax. Expires January 11, 2013.)
Alaqua Country Club was designed by true golf legend Gary Player, whose brilliant layout makes the most of this unique slice of land. Bordering the Wekiva River Buffer Conservation Area, the club serves as something of a buffer itself, between untouched wilderness and a luxurious residential community. Here, each hole blends seamlessly into its natural surroundings, with majestic 55-foot-tall trees towering over the fairways, and the Little Wekiva river flowing throughout.
The stunning beauty of the area is trumped by only one thing—just how good this golf course is, something one would expect from a design by a nine-time major winner. With this in mind, the par-72 course was intended to challenge the player's accuracy and creativity.
As a Florida oasis of golf, one an expect water figuring prominently into decision-making. In addition, the masterfully placed bunkers can make getting to the green a real challenge. Either way, the course does exactly what it was intended to do: Live up to the expectations set for it by the name of its legendary designer.
Alaqua Country Club is an easy destination to reach from anywhere in Central Florida with a location just off I-4 between Orlando and Deltona. So head to the highway and get ready for a casual golf atmosphere amongst all the beauty of nature at Alaqua Country Club.
