Located 30 miles west of Mount Pleasant, Tullymore Golf Resort has been a perennial member of golf’s elite each year since its opening in 2002: Ranked 5-Star Best Places to Play by Golf Digest, #1 Golf Resort in Michigan, #27 in the United States, Top 15 Greatest Public Courses in America and Top 50 Golf Resorts in the U.S. — the accolades have been piled on this course for years, and with good reason. This is a place of legend. A place of beauty. A place of excellence.
Famed architect Jim Engh crafted Tullymore from 800 acres of wood and water-filled Michigan landscape. The result was nothing short of spectacular. Meticulous attention to detail, sharp contrasts and absolutely superb mounding have gained Tullymore its national acclaim.
Tullymore is a truly unique golf experience, a favorite on nearly every golfer's bucket list. Playing 7,148 yards from the tips with an ego-crushing 148 slope, Tullymore represents one of the highest slope ratings in the Midwest. The majority of visitors tend to favor the Blue tees (6,210 yards / 135 slope) and the favorable bounces from the masterfully contoured fairways. While it may sound daunting, this is a very playable and tranquil round of golf.
"Tullymore is a bedazzling golf course, a unique style of golf design that's imposed upon the landscape without being an imposition."
— Ron Whitten, Golf Digest
Just a few miles down the road you'll find the Jerry Mathews-designed St Ives golf course. Offering four sets of tees and water on 11 of the 18 holes, St Ives is a breathtaking slice of glacially carved Michigan wilderness. At more reasonable 6,702 yards and 140 slope from its respective tips, St Ives offers a visually stunning array of elevation changes and views. Built on what was once a glacial tilt, St. Ives presents 40 to 80 feet of elevation change that will sure call for a picture or two.
"St. Ives is a dramatic melding of hardwoods, wetlands and steep elevation changes. It all adds up to a golfing experience unparalleled south of the 45th parallel."
— Don VanderVeen, Michigan Golf Magazine
