Brookshire Inn and Golf Club, conveniently located east of Lansing in downtown Williamston, is one of mid-Michigan’s finest golf courses. Players find themselves immersed the scenery, unfolding over rolling fields and around glistening ponds, the long journey culminating in a magnificent final leg through natural wetlands. The unique course at Brookshire is so pristine that one may mistake it for one of its Northern Michigan counterparts.

The original nine-hole course was constructed in the 1950s, and the back nine followed a few decades later in the 1990s. Owing to the standards of golf course construction at the time of its construction, the front nine is a bit shorter but requires precise shot-making capabilities. Tight fairways and smaller landing zones make great golf shots seem even better, and the well-manicured, immaculate putting greens make the challenge of putting more manageable.

The back nine complements the front nine, but with an entirely different feel. Wide-open fairways tend to dominate the back nine, where a different type of challenge rears its head. The grass swales and mounded bunkers play a huge role, and plenty of water lurks, coming into play on several holes on the back nine.

Designed by Bruce Matthews, the course at Brookshire measures 6,310 yards from back tees. The course also accommodates beginners easily by bringing the yardage down to just 4,939 yards from the front. The variance in each hole's design makes the entire course not only fun to play but a unique challenge as well.
