Bidwell Park Golf Course
Head to the hills and enjoy an historical Northern California course with today's feature: $25 for 18 Holes with Cart at Bidwell Park Golf Course in Chico ($50 Value. Expires August 15, 2013!)
Bidwell Park Golf Course was opened in 1929, occupying a relatively small portion of the 3,670-acre Bidwell Park, one of the largest municipal parks in the country.
An interesting mix of parkland-style design elements have been adapted to the hilly terrain found in the Bidwell Park foothills. Narrow fairways are accentuated by tall trees and smallish greens are protected by bunkers and grass swales.
Recent improvements have improved playability as well as the overall appeal of the course, with Kirby markers for better estimation of distance to pin and new golf carts for a more enjoyable day on the course.
Its reputation for a quality round of golf has earned it the honor of hosting the annual Chico City Championship, the second oldest match-play tournament in California, every September.
Additional amenities at this well-rounded facility include a large, kidney-shaped chipping/putting green with a practice bunker as well as a fully-stocked pro shop with all the best from a variety of top brands.
Finally, for a relaxing finish to your day, head over to the newly improved Bidwell Grill. The unique menu will pique your interests and the cool beverages on tap serve as the perfect end to a fun round at Bidwell Park Golf Course.
