Enjoy the grand history of this great capital city favorite — as well as its modernized fairways — with today's opening feature: $20 for 18 Holes with Cart and Range Balls at Colonial Golf and Tennis Club in Harrisburg ($64 Value. Expires December 31, 2013.)

The story of Colonial Golf and Tennis Club began in 1910, when the course served as the cornerstone of the Colonial Country Club. Even when the clubhouse moved in 1954, the course remained.

Then, beginning in 2002, the course was given a complete renovation by none other than the likes of the legendary Arthur Hills, a fitting choice for such a historical gem, and Steve Forrest, former president of the ASGCA. His many years of experience spared the essence of the original design, while simultaneously modernizing the greens, landing zones and tee boxes.

Today, Colonial Golf and Tennis Club features a rolling landscape of traditionalist aesthetics adorned with 100-year-old trees. The course's maximum distance reaches 6,868 yards from the tips, with a corresponding 73.1/134 course/slope rating. Part of Hills' and Forrest's redesign included developing a total of five tee locations, which scale down to as little as 5,151 yards. By making the course more accessible to players of all skill levels, Hills and Forrest have ensured that Colonial's beautiful course will be enjoyed for generations to come.

As one would expect from a place like Colonial, the clubhouse restaurant, Squires, is a post-round dining experience of top-notch quality. An inviting, stylish interior makes way to spectacular outdoor patio with stunning views of the No. 18 green. There's no better way to polish off your day at Colonial Golf and Tennis Club than recounting the shots of the day while sipping a favorite ice-cold beverage in the company of friends.
