The Claw at USF has been providing guests with one of Tampa Bay’s most challenging public courses since 1967. Its beautiful plot of land just inside the Lettuce Lake Regional Park was transformed into a thoroughly enjoyable design by course architect William F. Mitchell, who carefully grafted the course into the natural woodlands of the area with a keen eye on aesthetics.
Though The Claw could technically be referred to as "a walk in the park," make no mistake; this course presents a substantial challenge to those caught in its grasp. With more than a few tight lies and long, narrow fairways, The Claw plays with some difficulty for those who prefer the back tees. On the other hand, the course also offers forgiveness and playability to those who prefer any of the four additional tees.
Best known for its local wildlife sightings, this southern preserve is home to deer, spoonbill and other wetland wildlife. Embracing all the organic beauty of such an area, The Claw at USF continuously impresses golfers with its commitment to protecting the natural habitat while also providing excellent course conditions.
After you’re finished on the links, stop by the newly renovated Rocky Sports Grill for a masterful meal and a fun and famous atmosphere. Known to be a great place to enjoy company, this 19th hole offers an array of draft beers and unlimited angles to catch a game.
So enjoy an adventurous afternoon in the wetlands of Lettuce Lake Regional Park at The Claw at USF!
