The Deltona Club, the aptly named golf course that makes its home in Deltona, Fla., features the 18-hole "Deltona" course, which was recently redesigned by Bobby Weed in 2008. Conveniently located off I-4 and I-95, northeast of Orlando, The Deltona Club provides short drive times, which always makes for longer drives!
After its renovation, the new design was recognized by Golf Week as one of the best public courses in Florida, and rightfully so, as the work better reflected the inherent beauty of the land while adding additional length and considerable difficulty. In fact, the new configuration breaches the 7,000-yard mark, a club that few courses will join.
The Deltona Club plays unique, in that frequent elevation changes make some seemingly standard shots all the more challenging; the change of vertical pace will keep even the most keen golfers on their toes. The vast "waste areas" can be tough, too, and the greens are heavily fortified by numerous bunkers, so be sure to bring your wedge, particularly if precision is not your game. Lastly, 250 new or replaced trees will surely factor in at some time — whether it’s avoiding them off the tee or just using them for shade during your round. If the course sounds a bit tough, don't worry — regardless of your skill level, the five sets of tees will happily provide a comfortable round tailored to your proficiency.
The Deltona Club also provides a driving range to aid you in your golfing experience. In addition, lessons are also available from professional PGA-certified instructors who are ready to help take your game to the next level.
So, whether you think of the course itself or its additional features, The Deltona Club provides the complete package for every golfer, and is an outstanding place to play your next round.
