Wildwood Green Golf Club is a semi-private facility with a beautiful 18-hole championship golf course designed by former ASGCA president John LaFoy. Established in 1986, Wildwood Green has earned a positive reputation for its peaceful atmosphere and a well-conditioned course.
As its name suggests, Wildwood Green is lush and green, with emerald fairways cut from forests of tall Carolina pines. After a major renovation in 1996, Wildwood Green Golf Club stretched out to 6,473 yards from the back tees, with a par of 70. The layout of the course plays true to its yardage across acres of rolling terrain and earns a fairly challenging course rating/slope of 70.4/129. Best of all, with four sets of tee locations, this exceptional design is accessible to all players regardless of their skill level.
A couple of quick tips: The course features generous landing areas, particularly on tougher holes like the long par-5 No. 7, which runs 567 yards with a creek to the left and out-of-bounds to the right. Also, the greens at Wildwood Green are fairly large and roll true, but have quite a bit of undulation, so precise approach shots are critical to avoiding any three-putts.
The rest of the facility amenities include a driving range and a putting green, as well as a chipping area and practice bunker. Additionally, Wildwood Green Golf Club hosts an on-site golf academy with seven PGA professionals on staff, ready to give you that extra spark whenever you need it.
So take a few hours to escape to Wildwood Green Golf Club and see all it has to offer, because "if all you want to do is golf, all you want to do is here."
