Designed in 1936 and opened for public play in 1938, Mound Golf Course harkens back to an era of classic golf – with challenge coming in the form of small greens, beautiful fairways, and a layout that is sure to test every club in your bag. Alex “Nipper” Campbell’s inspired design is beautifully located on an elevated bluff which overlooks the Miami Valley, creating stunning picturesque views on every single hole. Playing about 2,800 yards from the back tees and carrying a course/slope rating of 65.5/99, a round at Mound Golf Course will eliminate your prejudices and show you that a 9-hole round of golf can and will be one of the highlights of your year.
The course itself is a thing of beauty and true pleasure to play. The layout is expansive and features everything from long, narrow par-5s to short doglegs that require accuracy off the tee. Mature trees are present throughout and often line fairways to add an additional element of challenge. From start to finish, Mound Golf Course will test you and tease you, and will almost assuredly be some of the most fun you’ll have on a golf course all year.
Though the great golf course is certainly the focal point of this wonderful facility, with it comes a set of amenities that are sure to make you feel right at home – many recently improved! The clubhouse is newly built and features the delicious Grille that is popular even with the locals. Offering one of the best menus in town, guests can enjoy a delicious meal or refreshing drink while they watch the sunset on the Grille’s gorgeous patio overlooking the course. The cart paths, irrigation system, and various other aspects of the facility have been updated, too, ensuring you the best round of golf possible.
From the golf to the atmosphere, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better way to spend an afternoon than a trip to Mound Golf Course. An Ohio tradition since 1938, don’t miss your chance to test your game against one of the Buckeye State’s best.
