Whittier Narrows Golf Course
Play among a little LA County history more than 50 years in the making with today’s feature: $37 for 18 Holes with Cart and Range Balls at Whittier Narrows Golf Club near Los Angeles ($75 Value. Expires March 1, 2015!)
Just south of I-10 in Rosemead and a short drive from Los Angeles, you’ll come across Whittier Narrows Golf Course, one of the Greater Los Angeles area’s premier courses. Though construction finished in the spring of 1955, Whittier Narrows' classically designed layout — granted to it by its designer, renowned ASGCA course architect William F. Bell — contributes greatly to its longevity.
Whitter Narrows consists of three nine-hole courses — "River," "Pine" and "Mountain" — that are packaged as the 18-hole, par-72 layout Whittier Narrows "1 Course," and the 9-hole, par-34 Whittier Narrows "2 Course." Measuring 6,864 yards from the championship tees, "1 Course" combines the River and Pine courses, while Whittier Number 2 Course consists solely of the 2,728-yard Mountain course.
Along with meticulously maintained conditions, you’ll find beauty equal to be equal to the challenge at Whittier Narrows with its undulating Bermuda grass fairways with heaps of punishing bunkers and other features to keep you in check. As you can imagine this facility provides great views along with great golf. It’s what all golfers seek: A layout that elevates both your game and your spirit.
Upon arrival, warm up before your round at Whittier Narrows’ practice facilities, which consist of chipping and putting greens as well as a full-service driving range. Then, since you’re already working on improving your game, swing into Whittier Narrows’ pro shop, where knowledgeable staff is on hand to service Greater Los Angeles with all things golf. Lastly, why play 18 holes when you can play 19? Your round isn’t complete without a stop at Whittier Narrows' Café, one of the better 19th holes you’re likely to come across.
Great golf doesn’t always have to come at great cost and a great drive, so come out to Whittier Narrows and experience the challenge, beauty and history of this 50-plus year history!
