Enjoy a delightful golfing experience that awaits you just a short drive outside of Charlotte with today's feature: $25 for 18 Holes with Cart at Red Bridge Golf and Country Club in Locust near Charlotte ($71 Value. Expires April 1, 2015.)
Situated on 500 acres of rolling topography in the foothills of the Uwharrie Mountains, the beauty of Red Bridge Golf and Country Club's 18-hole course is out-shined only by its brilliant layout. For these traits as well as its attention to detail and friendly, professional staff, Red Bridge is duly noted as one of the region's premier golf destinations.
Designed in 2009 by veteran course architect David Postlethwait — a protege of the great Pete Dye — Red Bridge Golf and Country Club has come into its own. Meticulously maintained and ever challenging, this championship golf course is a showcase of elegant design. The first fairway runs lengthwise along the vineyards of Rocky River Winery, making Red Bridge the only golf course vineyard in the Carolinas. Bermuda grass fairways with distinct elevation changes are lined with tall Carolina pines and lead to velvety MiniVerde greens. Giving the course its teeth are 28 strategically placed bunkers and several meandering streams and small ponds, in addition to mammoth holes like the 650-yard par-5 No. 18.
With nearly 6,800 yards of total length, the course is no small task from the tips; it boasts a slightly above-par course/slope rating of 72.5/138. However, part of Postlethwait's genius is his clever positioning of the tee boxes, which lessens the challenge for other skill levels while preserving the integrity of the course.
Adjacent to the course is a fully stocked pro shop and a practice facility with driving range and putting green — and, of course, the requisite "19th hole," offering players a variety of menu options and cold beverages to salute the day's best shots.
Just 25 minutes from downtown Charlotte, Red Bridge Golf and Country Club invites you to experience the top-notch facility right down the street.
