Conveniently located in Saint Anne just 35 minutes south of I-80 along I-57, Kankakee Elks Country Club provides a classic design and relaxed atmosphere worthy of being added to your list of favorites. The course is bordered by the Kankakee River and a densely wooded area, further contributing to the peaceful surroundings noticeably absent of residential development.
Course architect William Langford designed this traditional parkland-style layout in 1930, making extensive use of doglegs, tree-lined fairways and small, challenging greens. Over his lengthy career, Langford developed more than 250 courses — mostly in his home state of Illinois — and, as demonstrated at Kankakee Elks, had a particular knack for creating naturalistic layouts with bold contouring and bunkering. The combination of good design and excellent playing conditions have earned Kankakee Elks Country Club multiple Gold Digest 4-Star ratings (2004, 2006, 2008).
The 18-hole, championship course measures up to 6,430 yards from the back Blue tees with a maximum course/slope rating of 71.5/121. In order to provide an enjoyable experience for players of all skill levels, three additional sets of tees are available, ranging from 6,329 yards to as little as 5,485 yards.
As the cherry on top, Kankakee Elks also offers a 15-tee driving range and putting green for practice, as well as friendly staff in the pro shop. The staff even includes trained club fitters that can help you choose the best equipment for you from top brands like Titleist, Callaway, Nike and more.
So if you're searching for a relaxing golf experience with few distractions and great service, look no further than the wonderful Kankakee Elks Country Club.
