Skyline Golf Course
Enjoy a uniquely designed, friendly layout with today’s feature: $12 for 18 Holes with Cart at Skyline Golf Course in Greenfield Township near Scranton ($31 Value. Good Any Time until August 15, 2015.)
Purchased in 1914 and cultivated in 1959, Skyline Golf Course began its life as a nine-hole course reaped from one of Pennsylvania’s richest plots of farmland. With the success of that simple layout, the Petrilak family (who still runs the course today) expanded to create a full 18-hole course — the same layout enjoyed by guests to this very day.
Two distinct nines combine to create a playing experience unique to Skyline Golf Course. The first nine, playing just under 1,900 yards, is a par-32 executive course featuring only par-3s and par-4s, the longest of which is the par-4 No. 9 that plays just over 300 yards. The back nine is a more traditional nine-hole track, playing 2,800 yards from the back tees. This par-34 features all of the hallmarks of Pennsylvania golf and is s great opportunity to post a low round.
Known for delicious snacks and some of the best milkshakes around, the Skyline Snack Bar makes for the perfect stop before or after your round, or in between nines at the turn. Featuring plenty of breakfast and lunch options (including Roxy’s famous pizza), there’s something on the menu for everyone. Keeping with the comfortable, inclusive atmosphere, Skyline also hosts parent/child golf nights, leagues and the yearly Greyhound Golf Classic, one of the area’s best golf outings.
