Foxfire Resort and Golf
Today's feature is founded upon the much-adored and hallowed grounds of North Carolina's top golf destination: $25 for 18 Holes with Cart and Range Balls at Foxfire Resort and Golf in Foxfire Village near Southern Pines ($73 Value. Good Any Time until October 1, 2015.)
Located in Pinehurst, Foxfire Resort and Golf is home to 36 holes of world-class golf. Both 18-hole courses were designed by Hall of Fame architect Gene Hamm with the intent of taking advantage of the rolling hills, sandy soil and small lakes of the area. Players have come to Foxfire from all parts of the globe for nearly 40 years now and are rewarded with a wonderful combination of layout, natural beauty and high-quality service.
The Grey Fox course is considered the most challenging course in the area. This par-72 course measures 6,834 yards with a course/slope rating of 73/129. Shot-making is firmly emphasized on Grey Fox with a well-bunkered layout and characteristic elevated greens. Hilly terrain, a healthy dose of doglegs and towering pines also are dominant features here. This course is looking the best it has in a decade and golfers of all skill levels will find themselves presented with an enjoyable and highly playable challenge.
Then there’s the Red Fox course, the members’ favorite. The par-72, 6,742-yard course is all wide, manicured fairways and vast, fast-rolling greens. A third of the holes feature water, and some of those require forced carries from the back tees. The fairway bunkers are strategically placed to grab the misjudged shot and there is no lack of sand protecting the greens on the Red Fox.
Just remember one thing — no matter which course you end up on, you're in for a treat at Foxfire Resort and Golf!
