River Cliff Golf Course and Lodge
Perfect for the working golfer stuck waiting for the clock to strike the five o'clock hour, today's featured course allows even the busiest among us a fair chance to tee it up: $5 for 9 Holes with Cart and Range Balls at River Cliff Golf Course and Lodge in Fremont ($28 Value. Expires December 31, 2015!)
On the scenic banks of the Sandusky River, River Cliff Golf Course is a short-but-sweet track with a surprising amount of character. Its convenient location in downtown Fremont makes River Cliff the obvious choice for squeezing in nine holes whenever one has the chance.
Originally opened in 1962, this executive-style layout sports a genuine parkland feel. Designer Fred Durnwald laid out the course in such a way that the open fairways can be deceiving. While holes may seem easy from the tees, obstacles—bunkers and water hazards—as well as trees do their very best to prevent you from reaching the green safely. So do not take this short course too lightly, or your score may reflect that.
From the back tees, golfers will take on a total of 2,633 yards for a par of 34. However, River Cliff has a reputation for being highly accommodating for players of all skill levels, and offers other tee locations as well.
River Cliff also offers practice facilities, such as the large putting green, to help you practice those crucial birdie or eagle putts, and the "Best Range in the County" to help set up those putts.
Playing on bluegrass fairways and bent grass greens under clear blue skies, you'll be content to be lost for a time amongst the tall oaks, maples and pines that line each hole of this little golfer's oasis, River Cliff Golf Course.
