Willow Springs Country Club
As far as historic courses on the East Coast go, you'd be hard-pressed to find one more enchanting than the subject of today's feature: $15 for 18 Holes with Cart and Range Balls at Willow Springs Country Club in Wilson near Raleigh ($38 Value. Good Any Day, Any Time until December 1, 2015!)
Willow Springs Country Club was established 1915 and is one of the oldest courses on the eastern coast. The course has been family owned and operated for more than 23 years and features a collaboration between Donald Ross and Ellis Maples, two giants of the "Golden Age" of golf architecture: Ross designed the course's fairways and Maples focused on its greens. As is customary with Ross courses, fairways are lined with tall hardwoods and pines that give Willow Springs a feeling of majesty that simply can‘t be replicated by newer courses.
Willow Springs Country Club is a semi-private, 18-hole golf course and country club with plenty of options for players of all skill levels. Offering up several tee locations with as much as 6,641 total yards and as little as 4,836 yards, Willow Springs is a classic par-71. Ross's plush fairways and Maples' tricky Bermuda grass greens may render a maximum difficulty rating of 71/127, but the layout is such that everyone from seasoned golfers to those new to the game can enjoy a round on this beautiful and historic course.
Off the course, Willow Springs' pro shop is stocked and ready to meet each player’s needs, whether that be through custom club fittings, club repairs, rentals or computerized service for those with disabilities.
And nobody likes to play golf hungry, so Willow Springs County Club has a full-service snack bar featuring delicious, deli-style sandwiches, mouth-watering hotdogs and hearty grilled burgers in addition to a variety of light snacks and beverages. For maximum relaxation, enjoy your casual dining experience on the outdoor patio just off the club house.
Willow Springs Country Club is a perennial favorite of locals and tourists alike. It's proven track record over nearly 100 years of service means that now is the time to find out for yourself exactly what you've been missing.
