Grand Marais Golf Club
A shining example of golf tradition in Centreville, Ill., Grand Marais Golf Club was named as one of Golf Digest’s "Best Places to Play" in 2008 and 2009, and course officials strive to constantly elevate their facility to new heights.
The course at Grand Marais has been described as being an oasis for the serious golfer. Mother Nature certainly knew what she was doing when designing this breathtaking area, creating a natural landscape that winds through the foothills.
While proud of its rich history since opening in 1934, Grand Marais is firmly looking to the future. The course was re-designed in 1994 to be made more challenging as technology changed, to keep up with and exceed the expectations of modern golfers.
These days, the club is under new ownership and new course management and the feedback has been great. Grand Marais was voted one of the top three public courses to play in 2012 in the St. Louis Metropolitan area by the Post Dispatch. With a par of 72 and a length of 6,727 yards, this course is one of the oldest in the area and plays to a course/slope rating of of 71.7/126
To ensure you’ve got everything you need to give every hole at Grand Marais your best shot, the course offers a fully stocked, on-site, golf shop filled with a fantastic selection for your everyday golf needs and continued improvement in the game. The club’s Lighthouse Restaurant specializes in bringing patrons great foods at great prices. It’s ideal for dining with your fellow players or watching a game after your round.
