Oakmont Golf Club
You’ll be sure to come 'round these mountains when you see today’s feature: $29 for 18 Holes with Cart on the West Course at Oakmont Golf Club in Santa Rosa ($70 Value. Expires April 15, 2016!)
Just outside Santa Rosa lies a perfect setting for championship golf, and it is here that Oakmont Golf Club makes its home. Surrounded with a beautiful mountain view, you will surely be distracted by the raw beauty of Oakmont's two courses.
Designed by Ted Robinson, Oakmont West golf course opened in 1963. This par-72 course is an 18-hole championship layout with three sets of tees. From the back blue tees the course plays over 6,300 yards with a course rating/slope of 70.4/126. Matured oak trees stand guard on the fairways, and majestic water features turn holes that would be considered ordinary anywhere else into sheer magic. With such glorious views, it is no wonder that so many get into trouble early on — you'll need your focus as on No. 2, for instance, where the tee shot takes you over a lake and through the woods to the blind approach to the green.
The East Course at Oakmont has been frequently referred to as one of Northern California’s most challenging executive courses. While it was a golf course designed for seniors and beginners, it has become a challenge for all types of golfers. Oakmont East, with its large greens, 45 well-placed bunkers, heritage oak trees, water hazards and scenic views of and Annadel State Park Forest, measures a 61.2/100 course/slope rating with a par of 63.
