Cricket Ridge Golf Course
Sometimes, life just doesn't give you enough time to play a full 18 holes — especially when rounds can last as much as five hours long! So when you've got the itch but are short on time, a place like Cricket Ridge Golf Course becomes invaluable.
Opened in the summer of 1990, Cricket Ridge Golf Course was designed by Dan Tekulve into a relaxing nine-hole escape. The par-35 course comes in at a maximum of 2,786 yards from the back tees and a minimum of 2,337 yards from the front, with corresponding course ratings/slopes of 68.5/121 and 68.6/122, respectively.
The course plays just as long as the scorecard says, so long hitters will find themselves in scoring position often — particuarly on par-4s — and the par-5s are reachable in two. Curiously, the designer tacked on a few extra yards on to the par-3s than one would expect; the shortest of the three comes in at 152 yards, while the longest is a bear at 220 yards. Look out for water in play on six of the nine holes, including two decently sized forced carries.
After your round, partake of a meal and cold beverage on the deck at Cricket Ridge's full-service restaraunt (which also happens to be open all year long). It's the perfect place to unwind, with idyllic views of the course.
