Voted ‘Best in the Blue’ in 2014 and rated three-and-a-half stars by Golf Digest, today’s feature course, Marysville Golf Course, is one of the Mitten’s most exciting places to play. Beautifully located right along the fertile banks of the St. Clair River, Marysville is truly one of the stand-out courses in St. Clair County, and one you can’t afford to miss.
The conditions are excellent, the design is flawless, and the views are spectacular – Marysville offers everything you want in a golf course, and more.. A favorite of locals and visitors alike, the layout features areas of water, mature trees, bunkers – the full gamut of what you’d expect form a classic Michigan course.
While the whole course is spectacular, your round’s finish will be one of the most unique you ever play, thanks to the two polar opposite holes that close your round. 17 is arguably the easiest hole on the course, with only a 157-yard shot required to hit the large green. Steer clear of the bunker on the right, and par should be no problem here. The 18th, however, is a completely different story. Playing just under 400 yards from the back tees, you’ll have to contend with a significant dogleg around a pond if you want to make par. A safe shot is 200-220 out to the peak of the turn, but beware: if you do choose to go for it, water or thick woods may eat up your ball should you miss left or right. Come through 17 and 18 without blowing up your score completely, and you’re in good shape to finish your round with a low score.
As greenside bunkers are in play here quite frequently, Marysville’s practice facility has everything you need to get your game in shape before your round. A practice bunker will help you learn what it takes to blast it out of the sand, and the putting green will help you adjust to the speed of the greens. After you complete your round, the Crossfire Grill is one of the most exceptional 19th hole destinations you’ll find – and a must-stop for all golfers who visit. Featuring a full menu that includes great food cooked over an Oak BBQ, as well as a full liquor and beer selection, Crossfire is the perfect place to grab a great meal and toast your post-round scores with your buddies.
There are few places quite as beautiful in the State of Michigan as the banks of the St. Clair River – so why not play golf there? Experience all of the fun that Marysville Golf Course has to offer with today’s feature from GroupGolfer!
