Deal Features

A Jack Nicklaus-designed masterpiece, Salem Glen’s 6,800-yard course features two distinct nines in one incredible course.

Salem Glen Country Club

Play one of the Triad’s finest courses with today’s feature: $23 for 18 Holes with Cart and Bucket of Range Balls at Salem Glen Country Club in Clemmons near Winston Salem ($49 Value. Expires May 20, 2017!)

Any course that is connected with the Golden Bear himself is certainly a must-play, and that’s the story at today’s feature course: Salem Glen Golf and Country Club in Clemmons just a short drive from Winston-Salem. Carrying the distinction of being the only Nicklaus-designed course in the Piedmont Triad, this highly reviewed and award-winning track is one of the highlight rounds in the entire Tar Heel State.

Just like the man who designed it, each time you take on Salem Glen’s 18-hole course, it gives you its absolute best. The layout takes full advantage of the exquisite Carolina countryside, featuring drastic elevation changes and a variety of natural hazards that make for a round even the most experienced player will find intriguing – especially thanks to the two drastically different 9-hole layouts.

The front nine at Salem is a links-style challenge that features wide fairways, plenty of water, and some of the course’s most spectacular views. With more than half of the holes designed around the Yadkin River Basin, the front nine is all about proper shot execution and course management if you want to head into the turn with momentum.

The back nine’s typical Carolina mountain-style layout is where the course’s famous elevation is really on display. Fairways here are tightly lined by large forests of mature trees, and many landing areas are sloped with no guarantee of a level lie even for those who hit the fairway. The four closing holes represent the course’s toughest challenges, including the player’s favorite par-3 17th which forces a 193-yard shot over creeks to hit the green in regulation.

Though the front and back nine do offer significantly different styles of challenge, the truly Tour-caliber conditions unite them into one cohesive layout. As you make your way through your round, each club in your bag will be tested – not to mention your mental toughness when the course’s difficulty unexpectedly swallows a shot or two. The key to getting the most out of this incredible playing experience is to let your score take a back seat to the incredible atmosphere, spectacular grounds, and relaxed round of golf. Do this, and you may just walk away from the 18th green with a lower score than you realize.
