Lancaster Host Resort and Conference Center
Enjoy a peaceful round in the heart of Dutch Country of Lancaster County with today’s feature: $20 for 18 Holes with Cart at Lancaster Host Resort and Conference Center in Lancaster ($42 Value. Expires September 1, 2017!)
It’s not often that the everyday golfer gets the chance to test their game against courses that have also tested Sam Snead, Jack Nicklaus, and, the King himself, Arnold Palmer. But with a trip to Lancaster Host Resort & Conference Center, you’ll get to do just that. Built in 1964, the classic design shines through with sweeping doglegs and straight-forward greens. The name of the game when you tee off on Lancaster Host is to hit the fairways – and hit them often. You’ll find the course is very playable from the short grass, but once you start to drift left or right into the rough, things can take a turn for the worse rather quickly.
Playing almost 6,300 yards from the back set of tees, this shortish course is defended by several ponds, cleverly placed sand bunkers, and large weeping willows and other mature trees. Be sure to manage the course properly as you make your way through your round. Forced carries on Nos. 2, 3, 5, 12, and 14 mean proper club selection is at a premium here, so don’t be afraid to club up to see yourself safely across.
With new ownership pouring significant investment into both the course and conference center — such as sleek new 2017 Yamaha golf carts for guests as well as new mowers and automated irrigation systems — this classic beauty is well on the way toward a complete restoration!
