Designed by the legendary course architect Donald Ross and first established in 1923, Rackham has spent the last century providing outstanding rounds of golf to people from all walks of life – and now it’s your turn to partake.

From the minute you hit your driver off of the elevated tees on the course’s long par-5 opening hole, you’ll know right away that you’re in for a real treat. Uniquely, the front nine offers back-to-back-to-back doglegs as well as a variety of tricky holes all designed to test your ability to properly strike your shots and avoid the hazards. The front nine ends with an uphill par-4 that brings you back to the gorgeous Albert Kahn-designed clubhouse for a quick snack from the grill or souvenir from the pro shop.

Like the front nine, the back nine also offers a diverse array of challenges brought to you by Mr. Ross. The real standouts here are the back’s two par-3s–each playing over 200 yards–that are quite a feat to hit in regulation, let alone try to score on. Heather and mature trees come into play quite frequently on the back, and the fairway and greenside bunkers add yet another test to this multi-faceted challenge.

Along with beautifully conditioned fairways, what makes Rackham a truly challenging course are the crowned sloping greens. Almost every green here is built on a plateau, making accuracy with your short game a must if you’d like to shoot a low score. Overdo your chips or hit your putts too hard, and you may be resigned to watching your ball roll down the slope into the fringe.
