Golf Club of the Limberlost
Somewhere, over the rainbow — Rainbow Lake, that is — you'll find a new golf course to click your heels and go home to: $15 for 18 Holes with Cart and Small Bucket of Range Balls at Golf Club of the Limberlost in Geneva near Fort Wayne ($36 Value. Good Any time until October 15, 2017!)
The Golf Club of the Limberlost is a wonderful course cut from the forest surrounding the idyllic Rainbow Lake along the banks of the Wabash River. Designed by Ronald L. Kern and established in 1964, the par-71 features well-manicured bent grass fairways, white sand bunkers and smooth, nicely paced greens.
A fair test of golf, The Golf Club of the Limberlost measures nearly 6,400 yards from the back tees with a 70.5/117 course/slope rating. Many of its fairways swoop gracefully, following the curves of Rainbow Lake, and others employ strategic fairway bunkering and false fronts as a means of defense. The conditions are terrific and, combined with a thoughtful design, have helped earn Golf Club of the Limberlost the honor of being designated "the best-kept secret in Northern Indiana" by Golf Digest.
