Playing just under 6,700 yards from the back set of tees, accuracy is the key to shooting a low score at Winding River, as water and white sand bunkers always seem to be lurking around landing areas and greens. Not only is the Winding River Golf Course facility home to one of the Circle City’s most enjoyable courses to play, it also plays host to one of the area’s best practice facilities. Golfers have the opportunity to warm up their full swing on the driving range, get their wedges into shape on the short game practice area with sand bunker, and adjust to the speed of Winding River’s exceptional putting surfaces on the practice putting green. The clubhouse is stocked full of equipment and apparel from some of the biggest names in golf like Titleist, Nike, Foot-Joy, and Under Armour (to name a few), and the expert staff offers full repair and regripping services. The course is also home to the Indianapolis Golf Academy, led by Director of Instruction Chris Clemens, which features some of the most advanced teaching technology available today. After your round, a trip to the large snack bar located inside the clubhouse is just what the doctor ordered – allowing you to end your round with a cold drink and delicious bite to eat.
