One of the most unique courses you'll ever play, Stay Hill Golf Club's 27-hole layout is truly the highlight of the Crystal Coast. Starting with club developers W.B. McLean, George F. Spell and W.A. Shackelford, Star Hill has become the standard by which all other area courses are measured. With three distinct nines, fabulous facilities and a private-club atmosphere, Star Hill lives up to its reputation as one of the must-play courses in the Tar Heel State.
Since opening in 1967, the grounds at Star Hill have been cared for with the utmost respect and attention to detail. The best-draining course on the coast, Star Hill's fairways are always in such immaculate shape that the club almost never invokes the "cart path-only" rule. Instead, each time golfers step out onto the first tee, they'll find 27 holes of timeless Carolina golf, always green and always ready.
Playing just over 3,200 yards, the "Sands" course will impress golfers with its length and layout. Carrying a 69.8/118 course/slope rating, the Sands will challenge you right off the bat with the 515-yard par-5 first hole. The "Pines" nine, playing 3,270 yards, offers yet another unique test. Rated 71.0 and with slope of 121, players need to be wary of the par-4 No. 8, the #1 handicap on the course. Lastly, the "Lakes" course plays the longest of the three and features a course rating of 70.8/121. With each nine offering perfectly conditioned tees and greens, any combination of 18 at Star Hill is sure to be a round you'll always remember.
Other enjoyable amenities offered include tennis courts, a pool, the Champions Room and a relaxing "19th hole," Star Hill Golf Club rivals any private country club in the area, so don't miss your chance to play the stand-out course of the Crystal Coast.
