Whether you’re a history buff, a passionate golfer, or anywhere in-between, today’s feature course, Ticonderoga Golf Course in beautiful Ticonderoga, is a round of golf that you simply can’t afford to miss. Beautifully set in the historic Lord Howe Valley on the north end of Lake George in the heart of the Adirondack Park, this one-of-a-kind Upstate masterpiece will challenge every club in your bag while giving you ample opportunities to recover from mistakes and score.
Built near the site where Roger’s Rangers fought the renowned Snowshoe Battle in the French and Indian war back in the 1750s, this 6,000-yard course is one of the most enjoyable and scenic you’ll find anywhere in the Empire State. The rolling layout uses the countryside’s natural undulation to its advantage, with elevated tees, greens, and sloping fairways adding to the difficulty of the course’s design. Flowing water from the meandering Trout Brook comes into play on seven of the course’s eighteen holes, putting accuracy at a premium at several points throughout your round. Tend to spray the ball a bit? Not to worry: Ticonderoga’s wide fairways and relatively forgiving hole designs allow for fairly easy recovery shots whenever you get into trouble.
If you find yourself coming through final few holes with a solid score on the day, be sure not to underestimate the course when you step up to one of its signature challenges: the par-4 18th hole. Though it plays a relatively manageable 358 yards from the back set of tees, a solid and straight tee shot is an absolute requirement here if you plan to hit the green in regulation. With woods on the right and a very elevated green that requires an extra club length to reach, 18 can be the difference between a final score in the double or triple digits for many golfers.
It’s not hard to see why Ticonderoga Golf Course and it’s incredible facility has been named as one of the best in the Adirondacks – now all that’s left is for you to come see for yourself. Don’t miss this amazing golf course – reserve your round now!
