Christmas Lake Golf Course
Enjoy Christmas in November with today’s feature: $18 for 18 Holes with Cart and Range Balls at Christmas Lake Golf Course in Santa Claus near Evansville ($50 Value. Good Any Time until July, 1, 2018!)
When you arrive for your tee time, strap your clubs into the cart, and step out onto the first tee of today’s feature course, Christmas Lake Golf Course in Santa Claus, you’ll quickly realize why Golf Digest Magazine listed it among the Top 75 Course in America. Exceptionally well-built and beautifully manicured, this one-of-a-kind course isn’t a Christmas miracle, instead, it’s one of the best golfing experiences in the Hoosier State – and it’s yours to play with today’s feature.
Nestled into the southern Indiana countryside and expertly crafted by legendary course architect Edmund Ault in the mid-1960s, Christmas Lake’s 18 holes are built to test the mettle and challenge the game of each golfer who comes to play. The two nines here are distinct, each offering their own unique brand of challenge as you make your way through your round. The front nine is relatively flat, and with only one dogleg in play, golfers can afford slight mishits to the left or right with little penalty. However, these same kinds of mistakes on the back could cost you several extra shots or more, thanks to the undulated fairways and tight tree-lined landing areas. Throw in water hazards in the form of sparkling lakes, and large sand bunkers protecting just about every green, and you’ve truly got a round that appeals to all players – and will challenge them, as well.
As you come through the final few holes and make your way towards the clubhouse, be sure to take special care when approaching one of the course's signature holes: the par-3 18th. What may look on the scorecard like a simple 130-yard shot to a large green quickly becomes a bigger foe when paired with the carry over a lake and bunkers on all sides of the putting surface. Even if you’re able to overlook all of that daunting hazard, don’t mistake a green hit in regulation for an easy birdie or par – it’s anything but. Severely undulated and disarmingly big, the legendary 18th green is the last thing standing between you and a low score on the day – so be cautious!
‘Tis the season to make birdies at Christmas Lake – so what are you waiting for? Enjoy this exceptional round with today’s feature from GroupGolfer!
