Wanango Country Club
Wanango Country Club's club motto, "Familia Omnis," which roughly translates to "One Family," couldn't be more fitting. From the moment you arrive, you'll find every aspect of this spectacular facility is geared towards providing the best possible family-oriented experience for every patron.
Built on an exceptional patch of rolling Pennsylvania terrain just off the banks of the Allegheny River, Wanango Country Club has made its name as one of the finest public courses in the Commonwealth. Though it is celebrating more than 100 years in business, the condition of this fantastic 18-hole layout has never been better — as evidenced by its recent transformation into a semi-private facility.
Playing over 6,100 yards from the back tees, this par-71 layout is everything you want in a parkland-style course and more. The course began as a nine-hole layout by the legendary Donald Ross and Thomas Bendelow in 1912, and two years later, he added nine more. The course was subsequently redesigned and added to by A.W. Tillinghast, a prolific course architect credited on at least 265 courses. Today, Wanango Country Club's exceptional layout features beautifully kept fairways, challenging, smooth greens, and magnificent, picturesque scenery on every single hole. With three sets of tees to accommodate the golfer of any ability level, this 69.9/125 course/slope-rated course is sure to impress from the first tee on.
In addition to the lovely course, the amenities at Wanango Country Club are truly country-club quality. Update your equipment and your wardrobe with a trip to Wanango’s extensive Pro Shop. After your round, be sure to stop into the Grill Room for a snack. With a delicious menu and outdoor patio, the Grill Room is the perfect place to grab a refreshing drink and toast the day’s scores.
