Located within an hour’s drive of Madison, Milwaukee, Rockford and suburban Chicago, today’s feature course, Cecelia’s Golf Course in Janesville, is the perfect playing experience for each and every golfer who loves a day on the course. A local tradition that has become one of the stand-out playing experiences in Southern Wisconsin, Cecelia’s engaging layout and relaxed atmosphere has spent years delighting players from across the Midwest, and is sure to do the same for you and your playing partners.
Too often golf is played in elitist, non-family friendly atmosphere that takes the joy out of every round. Luckily, at Cecelia’s, they believe in a different kind of golf – one that promotes a scenic and enjoyable round without all of the pomp and circumstance of posh private clubs. Instead, what you’ll find is a fantastic 9-hole course in exceptional condition, with a staff and atmosphere that will make you feel like a regular even if it’s your first time visiting. From the clubhouse attendants to the greens-keeping crew, each member of the Cecelia’s team works with one goal in mind: to make your round of fun one that you’ll never forget.
But don’t think the friendly atmosphere makes Cecelia’s track an easy one – it’s far from it. Water is in play here, including a forced carry to the green on #7, and mature trees and strategically placed bunkers make accuracy of A+ importance during your round. However, the occasional mishit or fade or draw won’t be the end of the world, as many of the course’s areas of rough are forgiving and can even still serve to support a hit green in regulation.
Not only does the awesome golf course at Cecelia's offer a one-of-a-kind experience, so too do the practice facilities, which are universally known as some of the area’s best. The driving range is beautifully laid out on 20 acres, allowing you to swing away with even your longest clubs. Plus, you’ll get actual realistic feedback on your swing thanks to the measured distance markers and top-quality range balls. For practicing your short game, the practice putting green right outside the clubhouse is perfect for adjusting your flatstick to the speed of the greens, and working on chipping it close consistently. Be sure to also stop into the pro shop to stock up on the essential accessories you’ll need to play your best.
