Opened in the mid-1980s with the goal of becoming one of Atlanta’s most enjoyable and sought-after semi-private courses, today’s feature course, Cedartown Meadow Lakes Golf Club, has achieved that goal, and more, over the last 30 years. Now fully mature and ready for players of all skill levels to enjoy, this Ken Skodacek layout has never played better - and is the perfect first round for your 2018 golf season.

Located about 60 miles outside of Atlanta proper, Meadow Lakes offers all who come to play the chance to experience true private country club-caliber conditions and amenities at an exceptional semi-private facility that’s open to the public. The course itself, playing just over 6,600 yards from the back set of tees, is immaculate - providing you the perfect opportunity to use every shot in your bag and really score well. The course is beautifully laid out on an exceptional piece of Georgia countryside, offering the privacy of the country and the convenience of the city all in one.

Water is a major factor here, coming into play on more than half of the course’s holes, and should be at the front-and-center of your plan of attack if you want to keep your ball in play. Similarly, you’ll want to take special care when pulling out your flat stick to putt. These pristine bent grass greens are smooth as glass and almost as fast. A quick 5-foot “no brainer” can quickly turn a par into a bogey if you’re not careful - so be sure to spend plenty of time on the practice green.

Though the entire course is absolutely spectacular, you’ll be particularly impressed with the closing holes - they make up one of the best finishes in Atlanta-area golf. In order to finish strong, you’ll have to contend with some of the course’s longest and highest-handicapped holes - including the 539-yard par-5 17th. Come through this final push somewhere around par, and you’ve put yourself in fine position for one of your best rounds of the year.
