Playing just a smidgen over 6,000 yards from the back set of tees, today's’ feature course, Hilltop Golf Course in Livonia, is absolutely pure Michigan in the truest sense of the phrase. Though each hole throughout the course offers its own kind of unique challenge, the course does have a signature challenge that brings out the best of what Hilltop has to offer: The par-4 5th. Playing a reasonable 402 yards from the back set of tees, the signature hole starts with one of the most spectacular views on the course from the tee box. From there, you’ll need to hit your driver well to not only clear two crossing streams, but also hit a fairway landing area that’s protected on both sides by mature trees. From there, the hole bends slightly right, leading ultimately to a small, rounded green that definitely takes some skill to hit in two. Do so, and you’ve successfully made it through one of the course’s hardest holes before you even make the turn.
